Yunusu Sibira: Uganda midfielder joins KCCA FC on free transfer from Kitara

Uganda midfielder Yunusu Sibira has joined KCCA FC on a free transfer from Uganda Premier League rivals Kitara. The 31-year-old central midfielder has signed a deal with the Kampala club running until 30 June 2028.

Sibira arrives at KCCA after a solid campaign with Kitara, where he established himself in the heart of midfield. He moved to Kitara in September 2025, also on a free transfer, and his form there has now earned him a switch to one of the country’s most prominent sides.

The experienced campaigner, who stands at 1.76m, brings significant top-flight know-how to his new club. Across his time in the Uganda Premier League he has made 35 appearances, scoring twice and providing one assist while clocking more than 2,800 minutes on the pitch, underlining his durability and consistency.

KCCA’s move for Sibira follows a career that has seen him feature for several Ugandan clubs, including BUL Jinja, Onduparaka FC, Gaddafi and Mbarara City, as well as a stint with Royal Leopards. His latest transfer sees him return to the capital with a market value of around €100,000, reflecting his standing in the domestic game.

Sibira will now look to add competition and depth in central midfield as KCCA prepare for upcoming domestic campaigns under his new four-year contract.
