Youssoupha Mbodji transfer rumour: Slavia Praha defender attracts Zulte Waregem interest

Senegalese left-back Youssoupha Mbodji is being linked with a move from Slavia Praha to Belgian club Zulte Waregem.

The 22-year-old defender is currently contracted to Slavia until 30 June 2030, but the reported interest from Zulte Waregem comes after a limited start to the 2026-27 campaign. Mbodji has not featured in any of Slavia’s three possible Chance Liga matches so far, with no appearances, starts or minutes recorded.

Mbodji joined Slavia on 20 August 2025 from Jihlava in a deal valued at €1.2m. His current market value is also listed at €1.2m. The move to Prague followed his arrival at Jihlava from French club Thonon Evian earlier in the summer.

The Senegal international was part of Slavia’s squad during the 2025-26 season, when he was credited with winning the Czech championship. He has made the transition to Czech football since joining Jihlava and later moving to Slavia, although his current lack of playing time has coincided with the reported interest from Zulte Waregem.

No transfer fee or probability has been established for the proposed switch, and there is no indication that an agreement has been reached. Mbodji remains a Slavia Praha player, with more than three years left on his existing contract.
