Youssouf Soukouna: First Vienna FC sign French-Malian winger on free transfer from Concarneau
First Vienna FC have completed the signing of right winger Youssouf Soukouna from French side US Concarneau on a free transfer for the 2026-27 season.
Soukouna, 26, joins the Austrian 2. Liga club after two years at Concarneau, where his market value most recently stood at around 300,000. The move marks his first venture outside France, adding an attacking option on the right flank for the Vienna club.
Born in Meru on 8 February 2000, the French-Malian wide player stands at 1.88m and is predominantly right-footed. His profile as an attacking right winger fits naturally into an advanced role, offering height and physical presence in addition to his ability in wide areas.
Soukouna arrives in Austria after a steady rise through the French system. Before Concarneau, he featured for Vendee Les Herbiers and Blois Football 41, with earlier senior experience at AS Beauvais Oise and Evreux FC 27 following his development in the Chambly Oise youth ranks.
His market value increased during his time at Concarneau, fluctuating between 200,000 and 350,000 over the last two seasons before settling at 300,000 in the months leading up to the transfer. The free move therefore represents a low-cost acquisition for First Vienna relative to his recent valuation.
Soukounas dual French and Malian nationality adds an international dimension to First Viennas squad as they continue to source talent from across Europe. The winger is now registered as a First Vienna FC player ahead of the new 2. Liga campaign.
