Youssouf Oumarou returns to Stade Tunisien on a free transfer

Niger midfielder Youssouf Oumarou has joined Stade Tunisien from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hazem on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old central midfielder completed the move on 14 September 2026 and has signed a contract with the Tunisian Ligue 1 club until 30 June 2027. Oumarou becomes a Stade Tunisien player again after previously representing the club during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.

Oumarou’s return comes after a spell in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hazem, whom he joined in February 2026. Before that, he played for Al-Karma in Algeria after leaving Stade Tunisien in January 2025.

His first spell at Stade Tunisien was particularly successful. Oumarou helped the club win the Tunisian Cup in the 2023-24 season, adding to the Tunisian Champion title he won with Esperance during the same campaign. He also lifted the Tunisian Super Cup with US Monastir in 2021.

The move brings the Niger international back to a club where he has already played a significant part in domestic competition. Oumarou also spent time with Esperance after leaving US Monastir, joining the Tunisian giants in July 2023 before moving to Stade Tunisien in January 2024.

A right-footed player standing 1.90m tall, Oumarou began his professional career with AS FAN in Niger. His career has also included spells with Mouloudia and DRB Tadjenanet in Algeria, Kenitra in Morocco, and Ivorian side FC San Pedro.

Stade Tunisien have secured Oumarou’s return without a transfer fee, with the midfielder now contracted to the club through June 2027.
