Youssouf Fofana: Crystal Palace linked with move for AC Milan and France midfielder

Youssouf Fofana, the France and Mali international currently at AC Milan, has been linked with a move to Premier League side Crystal Palace. The London club are understood to be exploring a deal for the 27-year-old defensive midfielder as they look to reinforce their options in the centre of the pitch.

Fofana joined Milan from Monaco in August 2024 for a fee of €26m and remains under contract at San Siro until June 2028, a situation that would likely require Palace to pay a substantial fee to persuade the Serie A club to sell. His current market valuation stands at around €23m, suggesting any agreement would represent a significant investment for the Premier League side.

The Paris-born midfielder has amassed extensive top-flight experience, with more than 170 Ligue 1 appearances and close to 70 in Serie A, as well as outings in both the Champions League and Europa League. He has also featured in domestic cup competitions in France and Italy, underlining his familiarity with high-intensity knockout fixtures.

On the honours front, Fofana was part of the France squad that finished as World Cup runners-up in 2022 and won the Italian Super Cup with Milan in the 2024-25 season, having earlier lifted the French League Cup with Strasbourg. Those achievements add further pedigree to a profile already shaped by consistent involvement at the highest club level.

For now, Fofana remains an AC Milan player with two years left on his deal, and any potential move to Crystal Palace is at the speculative stage.
