Youssouf Diarra: Stade Poitevin midfielder returns to Montlouis on free transfer
Youssouf Diarra has joined Montlouis from Stade Poitevin on a free transfer, with the defensive midfielder sealing a permanent return to the club on 8 July 2026. The 25-year-old Ivorian leaves the Poitiers-based side after one season to link up again with Montlouis, where he previously spent part of his early senior career.
Diarra, a right-footed holding midfielder born in Tours, first signed for Montlouis in July 2020 from FC O. Tourangeau, before moving on to Tours FC in 2021. Spells with Austrian side Bischofshofen and then Stade Poitevin followed, both also on free transfers, as he built experience in regional and lower-tier competitions in France and abroad.
Across his career to date, Diarra has made more than 100 senior appearances in league and cup competitions, including 57 in Frances National 2 Group C and 29 in the German Regionalliga West. He has contributed three goals from midfield in National 2 and has also featured in the Coupe de France and the Austrian OFB-Cup, underlining his familiarity with knockout football as well as league campaigns.
Standing at 1.78m and operating primarily as a defensive midfielder, Diarras arrival gives Montlouis additional depth and continuity in the centre of the pitch, with the club reacquiring a player already accustomed to its environment and demands. The move marks his second spell at Montlouis, completing a free transfer from Stade Poitevin ahead of the 202627 season.
