According to the Spanish newspaper “AS,” Rayo Vallecano supporters launched a barrage of racist chants immediately after En-Nesyri kneeled in prayer upon scoring a goal against Rayo.
A section of Rayo Vallecano fans hurled insults at the Moroccan player Youssef En-Nesyri and his mother.
The Spanish newspaper emphasized that La Liga will take legal action against those who attacked En-Nesyri.
En-Nesyri led Sevilla to secure three valuable points against Rayo Vallecano on Monday after scoring a brace, securing a 2-1 victory for the Andalusian team in the La Liga matchday 23 fixtures.
The Moroccan striker opened the scoring for his team in the nineteenth minute with his left foot after a one-on-one situation with the opposition goalkeeper, before Rayo Vallecano equalized through their player Isi Palazón in the 29th minute.
En-Nesyri reclaimed his status as the star of the match by scoring the winning goal in the final minutes of the first half.
Youssef En-Nesyri achieved a remarkable milestone, becoming the highest-scoring Moroccan player in the history of La Liga with a total of 60 goals after netting a brace against the opposition.
