Youssef Chermiti: Rangers striker linked with move to Galatasaray in €15m deal

Portugal-Tunisia forward Youssef Chermiti is attracting interest from Galatasaray, with the Turkish Super Lig club exploring a move for the Rangers centre-forward, who is currently valued at around €15 million.

The 22-year-old, who joined Rangers from Everton on 1 September 2025, has emerged as a key figure in the Scottish Premiership side’s attack and wears the number nine shirt at Ibrox. He is under contract with the Glasgow club until 30 June 2029, meaning Rangers are in a strong position to negotiate should Galatasaray turn their interest into a formal offer.

Chermiti has made an impact in Scotland’s top flight, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 25 Premiership appearances, including four goals and two assists in five matches during the Premiership’s top-six split. His form in that spell has enhanced his reputation and underlined his status as Rangers’ first-choice centre-forward.

Born in Santa Maria in the Azores and standing at 1.92m, Chermiti operates through the middle and is right-footed. He represents both Portuguese and Tunisian nationality and has already experienced top-flight football in Portugal and England, having previously played in Liga Portugal and the Premier League before his move north.

Rangers paid €8.6 million to sign him from Everton when his market value stood at €8m, and that figure has since risen to €15m, reflecting his progression in Glasgow. With three years remaining on his deal, any agreement with Galatasaray is likely to depend on whether the Turkish club are prepared to meet Rangers’ valuation of a player tied down on a long-term contract.
