Young Africans SC lead CFFA at half-time after Cheikh Ibrahima Toure’s 39th-minute goal gave the Tanzanian side a deserved advantage.
The Senegalese forward struck shortly before the interval to complete a dominant first-half display from Young Africans, who controlled possession and dictated the attacking play.
Much of their threat came through their new signing, with the Tanzanian side maintaining pressure and enjoying territorial superiority for most of the opening 45 minutes.
CFFA will now have to commit more players forward after the break as they look for an equaliser against a well-organised Yanga defence.
The second half will be decisive as Young Africans look to strengthen their position in the race to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
