Young Africans and Simba battle for South African midfielder Keletso Makgalwa
Young Africans are reportedly interested in signing midfielder Keletso Makgalwa, with fierce rivals Simba also monitoring the situation as the transfer race for the Sekhukhune United player intensifies.
Makgalwa, who currently plays for Sekhukhune United FC in the South African Premiership, has struggled for consistent game time and is believed to be open to a move away from the club.
The midfielder joined Sekhukhune United two seasons ago with expectations of a short-term spell before securing a move to a bigger side. However, that progression has not materialised, largely due to limited opportunities on the pitch last season.
There had been strong local interest in the player, with Kaizer Chiefs previously linked due to admiration for the former Mamelodi Sundowns FC midfielder, but no deal has been completed.
With that move yet to happen, top Tanzanian clubs have now stepped into the picture, potentially opening a new chapter in Makgalwa’s career.
Young Africans, who are believed to be closing in on South African coach Fadlu Davids, see Makgalwa as a strong fit for their evolving squad project. Their rivals Simba SC, coached by local tactician Steve Barker, are also understood to be keen on strengthening their midfield options.
The growing interest from both Tanzanian giants highlights Makgalwa’s reputation and experience in Southern African football, despite his recent lack of consistent minutes.
With the transfer window open, a move away from Sekhukhune United now appears increasingly likely as both clubs prepare to compete for his signature.
