Brighton began their UEFA Conference League campaign with a 4-0 victory over Lithuanian side Kauno Zalgiris in the opening round of the league phase.
The match marked the first-team debut of 18-year-old Egyptian playmaker Younes Ibrahim, who came on in the 67th minute for Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman after Osman suffered an injury.
Ibrahim made an immediate contribution, providing an assist in the same minute that Matt O’Riley entered the game.
The appearance was Ibrahim’s first for Brighton’s senior side. He had previously been named on the bench once this season, during the Premier League match against Coventry City in the fourth round, but did not feature.
Brighton’s victory gave them their first three points of the competition and put them at the top of the standings on goal difference, ahead of more than one other team.
