Younes El Bahraoui: Moroccan striker joins Al-Taawoun in €1m move from RS Berkane

Moroccan centre-forward Younes El Bahraoui has joined Saudi Pro League side Al-Taawoun from RS Berkane in a permanent €1 million transfer. The 21-year-old has signed a contract running until 30 June 2029 with the Buraidah club.

El Bahraoui arrives in Saudi Arabia on the back of a breakthrough spell in the Moroccan top flight with Berkane, having first moved there in 2025 from KACM Marrakech. He briefly returned to Marrakech on loan during the 2025-26 season before re-establishing himself with Berkane ahead of this move.

Born in Marrakech and standing at 1.80m, the right-footed striker operates through the middle and is valued at €600,000. His switch to Al-Taawoun marks his first move outside Morocco and continues a rapid rise since leaving KAC Marrakech’s youth ranks in 2023.

Last season across domestic competitions in Morocco, El Bahraoui registered 4 goals and 3 assists in 20 Botola Pro Inwi appearances, while also scoring 3 times in 6 Excellence Cup outings and once in the Coupe du Trone, underlining his scoring impact in limited minutes.

By committing El Bahraoui to a long-term deal until 2029, Al-Taawoun have secured a young Moroccan centre-forward on a five-year contract following his €1 million transfer from RS Berkane.
