Younès Belhanda’s future at Galatasaray appears increasingly uncertain, with the Moroccan international now firmly on the transfer list as the Turkish club looks to part ways with one of its highest-profile players. Once considered a key figure in the Istanbul side’s midfield, Belhanda has fallen out of favor following a tense period marked by controversy and strained relations with both supporters and management.

The situation escalated after Galatasaray’s heavy Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, when Belhanda delivered a heated outburst that reportedly did not sit well with the club’s hierarchy. Since then, his position within the squad has grown more complicated, and the club has made it clear that it is open to letting him leave. What once seemed like a stable partnership has now turned into a likely separation, with Galatasaray actively seeking offers for the Atlas Lion.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his status, Belhanda remains an attractive prospect on the transfer market. His experience at the highest level, combined with his technical qualities and international pedigree, has ensured that interest has not been lacking. Clubs from Saudi Arabia and China have already been linked with the Moroccan playmaker, and now a new contender has emerged from Russia. Rubin Kazan, currently struggling in the Russian Premier League, are reportedly keen to secure his services during the upcoming winter transfer window.

According to Turkish media reports, negotiations between Galatasaray and Rubin Kazan have been ongoing for several days. The Russian club, sitting 13th in the league and looking to strengthen its squad, views Belhanda as a player capable of adding creativity and leadership in midfield. However, the two sides have yet to agree on a transfer fee. Galatasaray are demanding €10 million for the 29-year-old, a figure they believe reflects his value and experience. Rubin Kazan initially tabled an offer of €6 million, but this proposal was swiftly rejected by the Turkish club.

Determined to move the deal forward, Rubin Kazan’s management has reportedly increased its bid and is now prepared to pay around €8.5 million, closer to Galatasaray’s expectations. For the Istanbul club, the transfer is not only about sporting considerations but also financial ones. Belhanda is among the highest earners in the squad, collecting approximately €3 million per year. Offloading his salary would free up significant resources and allow Galatasaray to invest in new signings and refresh the team.

The final hurdle, however, lies with the player himself. Belhanda remains under contract until 2021, and any move will depend on his willingness to join the Russian side. While Rubin Kazan offers a fresh start and the promise of regular playing time, the challenge will be convincing the Moroccan international to embrace a new environment and league at this stage of his career.

As the winter transfer window approaches, Belhanda’s future remains one of the key storylines at Galatasaray. With multiple suitors and ongoing negotiations, a departure seems increasingly likely. The only question left is whether Russia will become the next destination for the experienced Moroccan midfielder.
