Youcef Douar: Algerian defender joins USM Khenchela on free transfer from ES Setif

Algerian centre-back Youcef Douar has joined USM Khenchela on a free transfer from ES Setif.

The 28-year-old, born in Oran, moves after two seasons with Setif, strengthening Khenchela’s defensive options ahead of the new Ligue 1 campaign. The deal sees him switch clubs within the Algerian top flight, with the transfer finalised on 20 July 2026.

Douar, who stands at 1.80m and plays predominantly as a right-footed central defender, brings extensive domestic experience with him. Across his career in Algeria’s Ligue 1 he has made 169 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist, as well as featuring in national cup competitions and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Before arriving at ES Setif on a free transfer in 2024, Douar spent his senior career at Paradou AC, having stepped up from their U21 side in 2017. His consistent run of minutes at top-flight level and exposure to continental competition underline the depth of experience USM Khenchela have added to their back line.

Douar’s contract start date at USM Khenchela is listed as 20 July 2026, confirming his status as a new permanent signing for the Ligue 1 club.
