By finding the net regularly for Lorient, the 23-year-old has now reached an impressive milestone of 30 goals in 101 Ligue 2 matches — a notable achievement for a player still early in his career.
Last weekend, the Villeneuve-Saint-Georges native delivered another standout display, scoring twice in a 3-1 victory over Châteauroux on matchday 15, further confirming his excellent form.
If he maintains this pace, Wissa could play a key role in guiding Lorient back to Ligue 1. The club currently sits second in the table, just one point behind leaders RC Lens, and firmly in the promotion race.
Still eligible to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo internationally, Wissa’s continued rise could soon attract attention beyond club football as well.
