The Professional Footballers’ Association of England hosted its annual individual awards ceremony on Sunday, revealing the standout performers of the season. Amidst the fierce competition for the top honors, one player stood out – Luis Suarez of Liverpool, the current leading goal scorer in the Premier League.
Additionally, the PFA XI of the Year was unveiled, featuring a notable African presence in the form of Yaya Touré. The Ivorian midfielder, who enjoyed a stellar season, was widely regarded by many observers as deserving the title of MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the season. With an impressive tally of 23 goals across all competitions (including 19 in the Premier League), Touré earned his place in the season’s best eleven.
