Yaw Annor: Togo-Ghana winger linked with move from Bank El Ahly to Swehly in Libyan Premier League switch

Togo-Ghana winger Yaw Annor of Egyptian side Bank El Ahly is being linked with a move to Libyan Premier League club Swehly in a potential North African transfer later this window.

The 28-year-old left winger, who plays off the left despite being right-footed, has emerged as a target for the Libyan club as they look to add proven attacking output to their wide areas. Annor is currently valued at around €500,000, a figure that is expected to shape any negotiations between Bank El Ahly and Swehly.

Annor joined Bank El Ahly in January 2024 from fellow Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily in a deal worth €744,000, having built a reputation in Egypt following his prolific spell in Ghana. His status was underlined when he finished as top scorer in the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League season with 22 goals for Ashanti Gold, an achievement that significantly raised his profile in the region.

Across his time in top-flight football, Annor has delivered consistently from the wing, passing double figures for goals in separate Premier League stints and maintaining a healthy minutes-per-goal return. That record, combined with previous experience in Spain’s third tier with CF Fuenlabrada and Burgos CF, has added to his appeal for clubs seeking an attacker comfortable in different tactical setups.

Bank El Ahly, who invested heavily to bring him in, face a decision over whether to cash in on the winger while his market value remains close to its career peak of €1.2 million. Annor’s current deal at the Cairo-based club has not been made public, leaving the financial structure of any move to Swehly yet to be clarified.
