Yassir Zabiri: Morocco striker joins Racing Santander on loan from Stade Rennais
Morocco forward Yassir Zabiri has joined Racing Santander on loan from Stade Rennais, giving the LaLiga side a new option at centre-forward for the 2026-27 season.
The 21-year-old left-footer arrives on a season-long loan, with his temporary move from the Ligue 1 club running until the end of June 2027. He is listed to wear the number 21 shirt for Racing.
Born in Marrakech and standing at 1.82m, Zabiri moves to Spain after limited game time in France but with an impressive scoring record elsewhere. Across his senior career to date he has found the net in the top flights of Portugal and Morocco, including goals in Liga Portugal and the Botola Pro Inwi, as well as in domestic cup competitions.
Zabiri joined Rennes from Portuguese side Famalicao in February 2026, having first made the move to Europe from Moroccan club Union Touarga in 2024. His rise accelerated in youth international football, where he became Under-20 World Cup champion with Morocco in 2025 and finished as top scorer at the tournament with five goals.
Racing’s new centre-forward, whose current market valuation stands at around €9m, is under contract with Rennes beyond his loan and is scheduled to return to the French club when the deal ends in June 2027.
