Yassine Titraoui: Algeria midfielder at Charleroi linked with Lens move

Algeria midfielder Yassine Titraoui of R Charleroi SC is being linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Lens as the French club consider strengthening their options in central midfield.

Titraoui, 23, has a contract with Charleroi until June 2027, meaning the Belgian side are under no pressure to sell and any deal is likely to require a significant fee. His current market valuation stands at around €7m, reflecting his status as one of Charleroi’s most valuable assets.

Lens’ interest comes with detailed knowledge of Titraoui’s background in French football. Before moving to Belgium, he made 85 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists, a level of exposure that would ease any transition back to the league. Since arriving at Charleroi from Paradou AC in July 2024 for about €1.2m, he has also featured regularly in the Jupiler Pro League and in European play-off matches.

On the international stage, Titraoui was part of the Algeria side that won the Arab Cup in the 2020-21 season and has been involved in the national set-up ahead of the 2026 World Cup, although he has yet to feature at the tournament. That combination of domestic and international experience is understood to be attractive to Lens as they weigh midfield options.

Charleroi’s stance is likely to be shaped by the length of Titraoui’s deal and the sizeable increase in his valuation since his arrival in Belgium, leaving Lens to decide whether to translate their interest into a formal offer.
