Yassine Kechta: Morocco midfielder linked with CD Leganes move

Morocco and France midfielder Yassine Kechta is being linked with a move from Le Havre AC to Spanish side CD Leganes in LaLiga2. The 24-year-old central midfielder, who was born in Paris, is understood to be on the radar of the Madrid-based club as they look to strengthen their options in the middle of the pitch.

Kechta, a left-footed central midfielder, has established himself in Frances top flight with Le Havre, making 93 Ligue 1 appearances and contributing six goals and three assists. His performances have helped increase his profile across Europe, with his current market value standing at around 4 million.

Leganes interest comes at a time when Kechta still has a long-term deal at his current club. He is tied to a contract running until 30 June 2030, a factor that would likely force any suitor to negotiate a significant fee if talks progress beyond the exploratory stage.

Kechtas rise has been built within the Le Havre system, having been promoted from the clubs B team to the senior side in 2022. He was part of the Le Havre squad that won the French second tier title in 2022-23, a success that secured promotion and gave him a platform in Ligue 1.

On the international stage, Kechta has already tasted success with Moroccos Olympic set-up, earning a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games. For now, though, he remains under contract at Le Havre, with Leganes monitoring his situation as they assess whether to firm up their interest.
