Yasser Zabiri scores sixth La Liga goal in six games after Wojciech Szczesny error

Morocco striker Yasser Zabiri continued his impressive start to the La Liga season by scoring for Racing de Santander in their 7-2 defeat by Barcelona at Spotify Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Zabiri, who came on as a second-half substitute, took advantage of a costly mistake by Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny to score Racing’s second goal in the 65th minute.

Szczesny had replaced Joan Garcia at half-time but was slow to deal with the ball inside his penalty area. Zabiri reacted quickly to capitalise and finish for the visitors.

The goal was the 21-year-old’s sixth in six La Liga appearances this season, extending an outstanding run of scoring form despite Racing’s heavy loss.

Zabiri began his campaign with a hat-trick against Elche in the third round of fixtures. He then scored twice against Alaves in the fifth round before finding the net against Barcelona in the sixth.

His latest goal came as Racing were overwhelmed by the hosts, who scored seven times at Spotify Camp Nou.

Zabiri has also made one international appearance for Morocco, playing against Burundi last May.
