Yannick Ferreira has shown trust in his Zamalek backline ahead of a crucial league game against Ismaily.

The Belgian coach is keeping faith with Mohamed Ismail and Hossam Abdel-Majid, naming them as his starting defensive pair for Thursday’s encounter at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia. Kickoff is set for in the evening in the seventh round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Club sources told Kooora, that Ferreira and his staff want continuity after Ismail’s strong display in Zamalek’s 3-0 win over Al-Masry SC. The young defender had stepped in for Mahmoud Hamdi El-Wensh, who remains suspended following his red card against Wadi Degla in the fifth round.

Ferreira praised Ismail’s performance, describing it as distinguished and worthy of another start. His decision also reflects confidence in Abdel-Majid’s growing maturity in handling pressure at the back.

Zamalek enter the match sitting at the top of the table with 13 points, determined to extend their lead. Ismaily, meanwhile, are desperate to climb from 18th place, with only 4 points to their name.
