Yannick Ferreira lays down his vision for Zamalek after crucial win
Yannick Ferreira showed his authority after guiding Zamalek to a hard-fought win over Pharco in the Egyptian Premier League.
The Belgian coach made it clear that Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri will not be part of his plans while praising the team’s commitment in a tense contest.
Zamalek claimed victory thanks to Angolan forward Chico Banza, whose goal lifted them to the top of the table with 10 points from four matches. Ferreira expressed confidence in Oday Al-Dabbagh’s form and fitness, suggesting the Palestinian forward will lead the line during his reign.
“During my time at Zamalek, I won’t rely on Jaziri, and I think Oday Al-Dabbagh is physically fit and performing well,” Ferreira said.
The coach was also frank about his squad, stressing the need for Ahmed Hamdy to show greater effort in training, while reminding journalists to focus on the collective spirit of the side.
Ferreira criticized Pharco’s tactics, accusing them of trying to kill the rhythm of the match, adding that such time-wasting damages Egypt’s football image.
