Yannick Ferreira has stayed quietly focused since taking charge of Zamalek, working behind the scenes without media attention.
The Belgian coach, who stepped in four weeks ago, finally spoke ahead of their Egyptian Premier League opener against Ceramica Cleopatra on Friday.
“The preparation period is six weeks, and I have only been working for four weeks. I wished it had been longer, but in the end, the team got the same amount of time as all the other clubs. The work is increasing day by day, and the technical staff’s ideas are being implemented,” Ferreira shared.
“We haven’t watched any Ceramica matches because the season hasn’t started yet, but I’ve watched their rivals’ matches from last season and learned a lot about the team. We’ll try to work hard to make a strong start to the league.”
“I am not worried about the results of the friendly matches, and the fans should not be worried because we are trying to implement many ideas, and this takes time. We cannot expect things to change in a short period of time.”
