After enduring challenging periods in his career, including a spell without a club until the summer of 2012, Yannick Boli found a resurgence in Ukraine by signing a 2-year contract with Luhansk.
Yannick, who once drew interest from Real Madrid after breaking into the first team of Paris Saint-Germain in August 2008, still remembers that offer vividly. Reflecting on that time, he expresses regret: “I have heard so many versions that I don’t know if it was the club that didn’t want it, if it was the president or Alain Roche. In the heat of the moment I said things that were beyond me. I’ve turned the page, but it’s not every day that a big club like that knocks on your door,” explains the striker.
At 26 years old, he remains determined to make a comeback in his career. “I have a name, and all I have to do is do something and it’s amplified. Today, thanks to what I do, I might be able to play in big foreign clubs.”
At the end of the 15th day in Ukraine, Yannick Boli scored his 6th goal of the season and provided an assist during the match against Dynamo Kiev.
