Yann Karamoh Set for Potential Return to Ligue 1 With Angers

Yann Karamoh is on the verge of leaving FC Porto when his contract expires this summer, with Ligue 1 side SCO Angers emerging as strong contenders to secure his signature on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old forward has found opportunities limited under Francesco Farioli, making just two appearances this season and accumulating around 50 minutes of playing time.

His lack of involvement has left him outside of Porto’s long-term plans, making an extension to his stay at the Portuguese club highly unlikely.

With his departure now appearing inevitable, Karamoh is expected to attract interest as a free agent, and reports suggest Angers are moving quickly to position themselves ahead of other potential suitors.

The newly focused Ligue 1 side are said to view the attacker as an early addition in their summer recruitment drive.

According to Oxygène Radio, negotiations between Angers and the player’s representatives are already at an advanced stage.

A proposed two-year contract, potentially running until June 2025 with an option for a further year, is reportedly on the table as discussions continue.

For Angers, the opportunity to sign an experienced forward without a transfer fee is considered a significant advantage as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Karamoh’s versatility and experience across several European leagues are seen as qualities that could add depth to their attacking options.

A return to France would also represent a familiar step for the Abidjan-born player, who developed at Caen before spells at Bordeaux and Montpellier.

His previous experience in Ligue 1 is viewed as a factor that could help him settle quickly and rediscover consistency after a challenging spell in Portugal.

Karamoh, who previously spent time at Inter Milan, is currently earning an annual salary of around €1.2 million.

As talks progress, Angers will be hoping to finalise an agreement that could see them secure one of the more experienced free agents available this summer, while the player looks to relaunch his career in a familiar environment.
