Moroccan goalkeeper Yanis Benchaouch on the radar of Qatari side Al-Gharafa
Young Moroccan goalkeeper Yanis Benchaouch is emerging as a sought-after prospect ahead of the summer transfer window, with interest building from across Europe and beyond.
The 19-year-old, currently with AS Monaco, has caught the attention of several clubs, including sides in Ligue 2 and multiple Italian teams such as AC Monza, Modena, and Inter Milan’s B team.
Interest has also come from clubs in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain, while Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa is reportedly monitoring his situation closely.
Despite the widespread attention, no club has yet submitted a concrete offer for the Périgueux-born shot-stopper.
Benchaouch’s stock rose significantly after playing a key role in Morocco’s triumph at the Under-20 World Cup last summer. However, his development has been slightly disrupted after he turned down a professional contract from Monaco and spent part of early 2026 sidelined through injury.
Standing at 1.88 metres, the young goalkeeper has featured twice in the Premier League International Cup U21 this season, continuing to build experience at youth level. He is set to celebrate his 20th birthday on April 10.
Since joining Monaco’s academy in 2021, Benchaouch has steadily progressed through the ranks, notably winning the prestigious Coupe Gambardella in 2023 alongside teammates Saïmon Bouabré and Aladji Bamba.
With interest mounting and his future at Monaco still uncertain, the coming months could prove decisive for one of Morocco’s most promising young goalkeepers.
