Yanis Akhal: France-Algeria midfielder joins FC Vauvert on free transfer

France-Algeria attacking midfielder Yanis Akhal has joined FC Vauvert on a free transfer from Beaucairois B. The 24-year-old, who plays primarily as a central attacking midfielder and favours his right foot, has completed a permanent move to the French club ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Akhal arrives at Vauvert after a short spell with Beaucairois B, whom he joined in 2024 from Algerian side WA Boufarik, also on a free transfer. His switch keeps him in French football while continuing a career that has already taken in spells in both Europe and North Africa.

Born in Nimes on 26 June 2002 and standing at 1.76m, Akhal has gained experience across several lower-tier competitions. He has featured in France’s National 2 and National 3, as well as the 2de Nationale FFA, accumulating more than 30 senior league appearances across those divisions. During that time he registered at least one goal in National 3, reflecting his ability to contribute in advanced areas of the pitch.

Before returning to France, Akhal spent time in Belgium with Solieres and RAS Jodoigne, moving between the two clubs in consecutive seasons, each time as a free agent. His first step into senior football came after leaving Castelnau’s under-19s in 2021.

Akhal’s arrival adds an attack-minded midfield option to FC Vauvert, who have now secured him without a transfer fee following his departure from Beaucairois B on 22 July 2026.
