Yan Diomande Real Madrid move delayed as RB Leipzig hunt replacement

Yan Diomande’s move to Real Madrid is effectively done, but the official announcement is being held up by RB Leipzig’s search for his replacement.

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Bundesliga club want to complete a signing to fill the void before they formally confirm the lucrative transfer.

Leipzig’s stance is not about haggling over the fee or renegotiating terms. Romano stresses that the agreement between the two clubs is fully finalized and there are no ongoing talks over the structure of the deal. The delay is described as temporary and linked purely to squad planning, with Leipzig keen to avoid leaving themselves short in attack once Diomande departs.

PSG had previously led the race for the 19-year-old Ivorian winger, even securing his verbal agreement earlier in the summer. But Real Madrid’s late intervention changed everything, and PSG eventually issued a statement confirming they had withdrawn from the chase.

With Paris now out of the picture, Madrid are expected to wrap up the transfer as soon as Leipzig complete their incoming deal. After that, the Spanish champions plan to shift their attention fully to another major target, Spanish midfielder Rodri.
