Liverpool have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign highly rated Ivorian talent Yan Diomande, as competition for the RB Leipzig forward intensifies ahead of the next transfer window.

With the European season nearing its conclusion, attention is already turning to potential summer moves, and Diomande has become one of the most sought-after young players on the market.

The 19-year-old has impressed in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, attracting interest from several of Europe’s leading clubs.

Among those tracking his progress are Manchester United, who are reported to have made initial inquiries. However, Liverpool are currently seen as leading the pursuit, positioning themselves strongly as they look to secure his signature.

According to reports from JS Transfer Time, the Merseyside club are keen to complete a deal before the start of the 2026 World Cup in North America this June.

The urgency reflects both the player’s rising profile and Liverpool’s desire to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

Diomande was initially viewed as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose future remains uncertain beyond the current season.

However, his importance to Liverpool’s plans has reportedly increased further following an injury to Hugo Ekitiké, prompting the club to explore additional attacking reinforcements.

Despite Liverpool’s apparent advantage, completing the transfer is expected to be challenging. Diomande remains under contract with Leipzig until June 30, 2030, placing the German club in a strong negotiating position.

Reports indicate he is valued at around £85 million (approximately €98 million), a figure that underlines the scale of his potential and the level of demand for his services.

Interest is not limited to England. European heavyweights such as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation closely, adding further complexity to an already competitive race.

With several clubs involved and significant financial considerations at play, the coming weeks are likely to prove decisive in determining where the Ivory Coast international will continue his career.

A move to Anfield remains a strong possibility, but the outcome is far from certain.

Currently valued at €75 million on Transfermarkt, Diomande is reported to earn an annual salary of €750,000, figures that further highlight his rapid rise and growing status within European football.
