Manchester City are being linked with a move for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, with the 19-year-old Ivory Coast prospect reportedly attracting Premier League interest after a rapid rise in market value.

Reports in Germany and on specialist transfer databases suggest City are monitoring Diomande, who is currently valued at €20.00m and listed as a Leipzig player in the Bundesliga. The probability of any move is not yet quantified, with the likelihood of a deal still marked as “?” in current rumour listings, underlining the early and speculative nature of the talk.

Diomande, a right-footed left winger, joined Leipzig from Spanish side CD Leganés ahead of the 2025–26 season, having moved to Spain from DME Academy in the United States earlier in 2025. Before that, he played for Yulee Hornets, also in the United States system, highlighting an unconventional development path that has taken him from Abidjan to North America, then on to Spain and Germany.

His emergence has coincided with a dramatic increase in his valuation: from €600,000 at Leganés in early May 2025, to €1.5m a month later, and then up to €20m after his switch to Leipzig was reflected in the October 2025 update. That escalation is likely to be a factor in any negotiations, should City decide to test Leipzig’s resolve.

Diomande’s contract details at Leipzig are not publicly specified in the available data, leaving open the theoretical possibility he could become a free agent at a future point if no long-term agreement is in place, though there is no indication this is imminent.

Born in Abidjan on 14 November 2006 and standing at 1.80m, Diomande is seen as an attacking wide player with scope to develop further at elite level, and a move to the Premier League would represent another significant step. If Manchester City choose to formalise their interest, the transfer could mark the next major turning point in a career that has so far progressed quickly through multiple countries and leagues.
