Yan Diomande lands major New Balance deal
Yan Diomande’s breakout season at RB Leipzig is now being matched off the pitch, with the 19-year-old winger securing a lucrative sponsorship deal with New Balance that is set to outstrip his club wages.
The Ivorian arrived from Spain last summer as a relatively low-profile signing but has quickly become one of Europe’s most exciting young prospects.
Diomande currently earns around €2 million a year from his Leipzig contract, yet his new agreement with New Balance is reportedly worth about €3 million annually, plus significant performance-related bonuses. It marks a huge step for a player who has risen rapidly through hard work and eye-catching performances in the Bundesliga.
“Everything I do is motivated by my heritage and the people who believed in me early on. I’ve always been a fan of the New Balance ‘Grey’ and I know the brand’s support will help me reach new heights on my journey,” Diomande said, expressing pride in the partnership.
New Balance’s Head of Global Football Sports Marketing, Andrew McGarty, hailed him as “ambitious, authentic, and built for the international stage,” underlining how highly the brand rates his potential.
