Yan Diomande calls Real Madrid transfer a dream

Yan Diomande has described his transfer to Real Madrid as a dream after sealing a move from RB Leipzig worth up to €140 million.

The 19-year-old forward said he was overwhelmed when he learned that the Spanish giants wanted to sign him.

“It was like a dream because there is no bigger club,” Diomande told Sporty TV. “From the moment I found out, I could no longer sleep. I simply could not believe it.”

The teenager arrives in Madrid with enormous expectations attached to his record-breaking fee, but his early comments reflect excitement rather than pressure. Diomande believes joining Real represents the biggest opportunity of his young career and is determined to repay the club’s faith.

He will work under José Mourinho, a manager he already holds in high regard. “Mourinho got up at 5am to speak to me. That shows how important it is to him,” Diomande said.

“When Madrid call, you cannot say no, so I said, ‘If they want me, then I will be there.’”

Diomande also recalled his message on his first day at the club: “I am ready to give my life for him.”

Real Madrid will hope the young star can quickly translate that determination into performances on the pitch in the coming season.
