Lamine Yamal all fired up ahead of Barcelona's second leg clash against Atletico Madrid

Lamine Yamal has delivered a defiant message to supporters of FC Barcelona, pledging total commitment ahead of their decisive UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Atlético Madrid.

The Spanish-Moroccan teenager, speaking on the eve of the clash in Madrid, struck a tone of belief and resilience as Barcelona attempt to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit.

With elimination looming, Yamal made it clear that the squad remains convinced a turnaround is achievable, provided they remain faithful to their identity.

“I think we’re a young team, all Barça fans, very much so, we’ve shown that. We have to do what we’ve done all season: fight for this badge and try to reach the semifinals,” he said.

Barcelona’s task is steep, but not unprecedented. The club’s European history is built on dramatic nights, and Yamal suggested that mentality rather than circumstance will determine the outcome.

He emphasized the importance of intensity without abandoning the possession-based philosophy that has defined the team’s campaign.

“We have to play the way we know how. Intensity without losing our style of play. We can’t think it’s a miracle we can come back. It’s true we started 2-0 down, but we have to play the way we know how.”

Despite growing expectations surrounding his own performances, Yamal was quick to underline the collective strength within the squad. The winger dismissed suggestions that responsibility rests solely on his shoulders, pointing instead to the depth of talent available to shift the tie.

“Luckily I’m playing for Barça and there are a lot of quality players. I don’t think everything depends on me, but if that were the case, I wouldn’t mind. We have many players who can turn things around.”

In a direct message to supporters, Yamal offered a clear promise that effort will not be in question, regardless of the outcome.

“We promise that if we are eliminated, we will fight until the very end, we will give everything for this badge. It will be a ninety-minute match or more because it’s not over.

“A comeback is possible, that’s why we are here.”
