Yahya Jabrane returns to Wydad AC on free transfer

Morocco midfielder Yahya Jabrane has joined Wydad AC from Ajman Club on a free transfer, returning to the club where he won the CAF Champions League and three Moroccan league titles.

The 35-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a contract with Wydad until 30 June 2027. Jabrane moves back to Morocco after a brief spell in the United Arab Emirates with Ajman, whom he joined from Al-Ahly in February 2026.

Jabrane previously represented Wydad from January 2019 until July 2024, making the Casablanca club one of the most significant chapters of his career. During that period, he helped Wydad win the CAF Champions League in the 2021-22 season and the Moroccan championship in 2018-19, 2020-21 and 2021-22.

He was also named Botola Pro Inwi Player of the Year in 2021-22, the same season in which Wydad secured continental and domestic honours.

The Settat-born midfielder has made 227 appearances in the Moroccan top flight, scoring 22 goals and providing 13 assists. He has also featured 63 times in the CAF Champions League, with 11 goals and three assists.

Before returning to Wydad, Jabrane spent the 2024-25 season with Kuwait SC after leaving the Casablanca side on a free transfer. His career has also included spells with Ajman, Al-Ahly, Dibba Fujairah, Hassania, Mouloudia, Beni Mellal and Fath Settat.

At international level, Jabrane has won the African Nations Championship twice with Morocco, in 2017-18 and 2020-21. His return strengthens Wydad’s midfield with a player who has extensive experience in domestic and African competition.

Jabrane’s move to Wydad was completed on 2 August 2026, with his new contract running until June 2027.
