Yahia Attiyat Allah: Morocco defender returns to Wydad AC from FK Sochi
Morocco left-back Yahia Attiyat Allah has joined Wydad AC from Russian club FK Sochi, returning to the Casablanca side on a contract running until 30 June 2027.
The 31-year-old has signed for Wydad after leaving Sochi, where he had been registered in Russia’s 1.Division. Attiyat Allah joined the Moroccan club on 2 August 2026 and will begin a second spell with the side he previously represented between 2020 and 2024.
Attiyat Allah is a left-footed defender who can operate at left-back. Born in Safi, he began his senior career with local club OC Safi before moving to Greek side Volos NFC in 2019. He subsequently joined Wydad on a free transfer in January 2020.
During his first spell at Wydad, Attiyat Allah won the Moroccan championship in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. He also helped the club win the CAF Champions League in 2021-22, adding continental success to his domestic honours.
The defender left Wydad for FK Sochi in February 2024 in a move valued at €500,000. He then spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Egyptian club Al Ahly, with the loan move carrying a fee of €200,000.
Attiyat Allah won three trophies with Al Ahly during that campaign: the Egyptian championship, the Egyptian Super Cup and the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup. He returned to Sochi at the end of the loan in June 2025 before making his latest move back to Wydad.
His return comes after the start of the 2026-27 season in Russia, although he did not make an appearance for Sochi in the four possible league games recorded before his departure. He has a current market value of €800,000 and previously reached a reported high of €2.5m.
Attiyat Allah is contracted to Wydad AC until 30 June 2027, completing his return to the Moroccan club from FK Sochi.
