Algeria midfielder Yacine Titraoui remains at Royal Charleroi after Olympiacos bid rejected

Royal Charleroi have rejected a formal offer from Greek club Olympiacos for Algerian midfielder Yacine Titraoui, with the Belgian side unwilling to sanction a transfer below their valuation of the player.

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Charleroi’s most sought-after players following an impressive campaign in the Belgian Pro League, attracting attention from several clubs across Europe.

According to Sudinfo.be, Olympiacos submitted a bid worth €7 million in an attempt to sign the former Paradou AC midfielder. However, the offer was turned down by Charleroi, who are determined to retain the player unless their asking price is met.

The Belgian club reportedly value Titraoui at a minimum of €10 million and are not prepared to lower their demands despite growing interest in the Algerian international.

Titraoui joined Royal Charleroi from Paradou AC two years ago and has steadily developed into one of the club’s standout performers.

Although he has struggled to establish himself as a regular under Algeria head coach Vladimir Petkovic, he was included in the Fennecs’ 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

His performances at club level have continued to strengthen his reputation, with his technical qualities and composure in midfield earning praise throughout the season.

The midfielder’s style of play has also attracted comparisons with former Italy international Marco Verratti, helping increase interest from clubs looking to reinforce their midfield.

Olympiacos are not the only side monitoring Titraoui’s situation.

Premier League newcomers Hull City, who have Algerian winger Bachir Belloumi among their squad, have also been linked with the midfielder as they assess potential additions ahead of the new season.

Despite Olympiacos offering the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds, Charleroi remain firm in their position and are not prepared to part with one of their key players for less than their valuation.

For now, Titraoui remains a Royal Charleroi player, although continued interest from clubs across Europe suggests his future could remain one of the stories to follow during the remainder of the transfer window.
