Algerian midfielder Yacine Titraoui has returned to action for Royal Charleroi Sporting Club after nearly a month on the sidelines due to injury.

The 21-year-old made his comeback as a substitute during Charleroi’s victory over KRC Genk on Saturday, marking his first appearance since suffering a thigh problem that forced him to miss three matches.

His return provides a timely boost for the Belgian side as they continue their push in the Jupiler Pro League European Play-Offs.

Titraoui had been building momentum prior to his setback, particularly following his recent involvement with the Algerian national team.

His performances in two friendly matches had caught the attention of head coach Vladimir Petkovic, highlighting his growing importance at international level.

However, that progress was briefly interrupted when he sustained an injury during his second club appearance after the international break.

The absence halted his rhythm at a crucial stage of the season, both for his club and personal ambitions.

His return now comes at a significant moment for Charleroi. After six rounds of the European Play-Offs, the club occupies fourth place with 27 points, sitting just three points behind leaders Standard Liège.

The format of the mini-league means only the team finishing first will advance to the decisive playoff stage, where a place in the UEFA Conference League is at stake.

Titraoui’s availability could therefore prove important in the closing stages of the campaign, as Charleroi seek to close the gap at the top and maintain their challenge for European qualification.

For the midfielder himself, the focus will be on regaining full fitness and consistency before the season concludes.

He remains among the players under consideration for Algeria’s squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup, and a strong finish to the campaign could strengthen his chances of selection.

A potential appearance on the global stage would mark a significant milestone in his development, following steady progress over recent years.

With his return now complete, attention will turn to how quickly he can rediscover his best form in the decisive weeks ahead.
