Wydad target Achraf Dari after sealing Jabrane and Hassouni returns
Wydad Athletic Club are reportedly closing in on a move to bring defender Achraf Dari back to the club as they continue rebuilding their squad ahead of the new season.
The Moroccan giants are expected to open talks with Egyptian side Al Ahly in the coming hours as they seek to finalise a deal for the centre-back, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.
Wydad continue summer rebuild
The Casablanca club have made strengthening the squad with experienced players a priority during the current transfer window as they look to return to challenging for domestic honours after a disappointing campaign.
Dari has emerged as one of Wydad’s leading targets, with the club hoping to secure the services of a player who previously established himself as one of their standout performers.
Homecoming on the cards
The Morocco international came through Wydad’s ranks and enjoyed a successful spell with the first team, helping the club win several major trophies before moving abroad.
His experience and familiarity with the club are viewed as key assets as Wydad aim to build a squad capable of competing for silverware once again.
Familiar faces returning
A move for Dari would continue Wydad’s strategy of bringing former players back to the club.
The Red Castle have already reached agreements for the return of midfielders Yahya Jabrane and Ayman Hassouni ahead of the upcoming season.
While discussions with Al Ahly are expected to take place, no agreement has yet been announced, and the proposed transfer remains subject to negotiations between the two clubs.
