Wydad Casablanca is wasting no time rebuilding their squad after their early exit from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
The Moroccan giants have made an official request to sign Al Ahly winger Reda Selim ahead of the upcoming season, aiming to sharpen their attacking force.
Sources within Al Ahly confirmed on Saturday that the Cairo-based club received a formal offer from Wydad for the former Royal Army star. Alongside that, loan requests also arrived from Zed FC and Ceramica Cleopatra.
With Al Ahly’s foreign player quota already full, Selim’s departure looks likely. Sporting director Mohamed Youssef previously hinted at the club’s willingness to let the player leave under the right conditions.
Selim, who joined Al Ahly from FAR Rabat, has found playing time limited, and a move could offer him a fresh chance to shine. For Wydad, bringing in a player with Selim’s pace and experience could be key to reigniting their competitive edge in both local and continental competitions.
The coming days could see progress if terms are agreed.
