Wydad continue squad overhaul with three new signings ahead of 2026/27 campaign

Wydad Athletic Club have strengthened their squad with the signings of midfielder Aymane El Hassouni, goalkeeper Rachid Ghanimi and left-back Hamza Jnan Allah as the Moroccan giants continue preparations for the 2026-27 season under new coach Paulo Sérgio.

The Casablanca club confirmed the arrivals as part of an extensive rebuilding process aimed at restoring Wydad’s challenge for both the Botola Pro title and continental honours.

The latest additions combine experience with youth, with two of the new recruits returning to the club after previous spells elsewhere.

El Hassouni returns to familiar surroundings

Former captain Aymane El Hassouni has rejoined Wydad on a one-year contract, with the club holding the option to extend the agreement by a further season.

The midfielder returns to a side where he previously enjoyed success and is expected to provide leadership and experience in the dressing room.

Wydad have also bolstered their goalkeeping department with the signing of Rachid Ghanimi from FUS Rabat.

The goalkeeper arrives after spending the last three seasons with the capital club and has signed a three-year contract in Casablanca.

Academy graduate Jnan Allah comes home

Left-back Hamza Jnan Allah is another familiar face returning to the club after signing a three-year deal following his move from Olympique Dcheira.

The 25-year-old came through Wydad’s youth academy, progressing through the club’s age groups before continuing his development elsewhere.

His return underlines Wydad’s intention to reintegrate academy products who are ready to make an immediate impact at senior level.

The three signings are among the first major moves since Portuguese coach Paulo Sérgio was appointed head coach last week.
