Head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem has made an important decision ahead of Wydad Athletic Club’s upcoming clash against Olympique Safi in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Wydad secured their place in the knockout stage after finishing top of Group B, while Olympique Safi advanced to the quarterfinals as runners-up in Group A.

The two Moroccan sides are set to meet in the first leg on Sunday, March 15, in what promises to be an intense domestic derby on the continental stage. The encounter is expected to attract significant attention as both teams aim to gain an advantage before the return leg.

The winner of the tie between Wydad and Olympique Safi will progress to the semifinals, where they will face the victor of the matchup between AS Maniema Union of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and USM Alger of Algeria.

The decisive second leg of the quarterfinal between Wydad and Olympique Safi is scheduled to take place on March 22, when the two sides will battle once again for a place in the final four of the competition.
