Wydad Casablanca forward Thembinkosi Lorch ‘knocking on Bafana Bafana door’ ahead of AFCON

Wydad Casablanca forward Thembinkosi Lorch is knocking at the doors of the Bafana Bafana following an impressive start to the current campaign.

Since the commencement of the 2025/26 football campaign, Lorch has scored two goals and also registered 2 assists in the five games for the Moroccan giants.

Lorch regained his form at the FIFA Club World Cup in USA, establishing himself as one of the outstanding players for the North Africa outfit despite early elimination at the tournament, held in the USA.

Despite his impressive performance, the forward has not been considered for a national call up, coming as a surprise to many.

The former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder has been tipped to earn a call up into the national ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Lorch can be one of the big surprises for Bafana in the near future should he continue with such performances in Morocco.

He is expected to play a huge role for Wydad Casablanca in their CAF Confederation Cup return clash scheduled for Friday, October 24.
