Wydad Athletic Club sign Congolese midfielder Joseph Bakasu
Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Athletic Club have secured the services of Congolese midfielder Joseph Bakasu on a four-year contract.
Bakasu arrives from Maniema Union as a free agent after his contract with the Congolese club expired. The transfer is reported to be valued at around €650,000.
The 21-year-old midfielder has already touched down in Casablanca to complete his medical examinations and finalize the deal.
This season, Bakasu featured in 10 CAF Champions League matches, netting a goal against local rivals Raja Athletic Club.
He is set to join Wydad’s pre-season training camp in the coming days as preparations for the new campaign ramp up.
Bakasu’s signing marks the latest addition in a busy transfer window for Wydad, who have also brought in Stéphane Aziz Ki, Nordin Amrabat, Hamza El Hanouri, and Bart Meijers to bolster their squad.
