Wydad agree five-year deal for Benin striker Junior Ologbade

Wydad have agreed a five-year contract with young Benin striker Junior Ologbade after he impressed during a trial with the Moroccan club’s first team.

According to Moroccan website Le360 Sport, the club decided to sign Ologbade after he convinced Wydad’s coaching staff during a period of assessment at the team’s training camp in Agadir.

The decision follows a close evaluation of the forward’s performances and capabilities during the camp. Ologbade was given the opportunity to train with the first-team squad, where he made a positive impression on the technical staff.

A source responsible for the matter said the player had earned the confidence of the coaching team led by Portuguese manager Paulo Sergio Brito. The manager and his assistants assessed Ologbade’s technical and physical qualities before approving the move.

That approval allowed Wydad’s administration to begin the final stages of negotiations with the player. The club has now reached an agreement on a contract lasting five years, according to the same source.
