Hakim Ziyech to stay at Wydad AC

Morocco international Hakim Ziyech is reportedly set to remain at Wydad Athletic Club for another season despite speculation over his future at the club.

Wydad management continues to have confidence in the experienced Morocco international, while he also retains strong support from the fan base ahead of the new campaign.

According to reports, Ziyech recently had a minor disagreement with Wydad’s new medical staff. However, the issue was quickly resolved and is not expected to have any impact on his future with the club.

Wydad president Ibrahim Al-Asri held a meeting with Ziyech to discuss the player’s situation and his plans for the upcoming season.

During the meeting, the possibility of Ziyech continuing at the Casablanca-based club was discussed, with the current indications pointing towards the 33-year-old remaining with the Red Castle for at least another season.

Despite making irregular appearances last season, the Moroccan winger’s performances and statistics are being viewed positively by the club’s hierarchy.

Ziyech’s contribution should not be assessed solely on the number of matches he played, pointing instead to his ability to influence games when given the opportunity.

Ziyech remains one of the most popular figures among Wydad supporters and is regarded as a fan favourite at the club.

He is also among the few members of the team’s old guard expected to remain following the departure of several key players during the summer transfer window.

With Wydad preparing for the new season, Ziyech’s continued presence would provide the club with valuable experience and quality, particularly as they look to compete for major domestic and continental honours.

For now, the indications are that the experienced attacker remains part of Wydad’s plans, with the club’s management showing no intention of forcing him out despite the recent speculation surrounding his future.
