The match between Libya and Togo in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers on the 5th day concluded with a 2-0 victory for Libya. The Libyans secured the three points in a relatively calm second half after a decisive performance in the first half.
The Sparrowhawks of Togo faced challenges early in the match, as two quick goals were scored by Saleh from the penalty spot and Komlan Amewou against his own team. Despite efforts from Togo in the second half to reduce or equalize, the Libyan defense held strong, and the numerous substitutions made by Togo did not alter the outcome.
With this victory, Libya strengthened its position at the top of Group I with 9 points. Cameroon, with 6 points, was in second place before their match against DR Congo. Unfortunately, Togo, with only 4 points, is already eliminated from the race for the play-offs.
