World Cup 2030: Santiago Bernabeu emerges as leading contender for final

The Santiago Bernabeu is currently the leading candidate to stage the 2030 World Cup final, according to journalist Jose Felix Diaz.

The Real Madrid stadium is reportedly FIFA’s preferred option for the tournament’s showpiece match, ahead of competing venues. Its position is understood to be strengthened by its modern renovation and historic prestige.

Plans for the rest of the competition are also beginning to take shape. The two semi-finals are expected to be allocated to Barcelona and Casablanca, creating a symbolic and geographical balance between Spain and Morocco, two of the tournament’s co-hosts.

The proposed arrangement has not yet been officially confirmed by the international football authorities. However, it offers an early outline of what could be a historic 2030 World Cup.

Should Madrid be awarded the final, the Bernabeu would host the biggest match in world football for the first time since Italy beat West Germany there in 1982. That would represent a return to the stadium 48 years after the final played at the venue.
