World Cup 2026: Yan Diomande ignores PSG and Liverpool rumours to focus on Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande says his full concentration remains on the 2026 FIFA World Cup despite increasing transfer speculation linking him with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The highly rated RB Leipzig attacker has attracted major attention following an outstanding 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign, with both Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool reportedly monitoring the Ivorian youngster ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, Diomande has made it clear that his immediate priority is helping Ivory Coast progress beyond the Round of 32 stage at the World Cup.
Diomande distances himself from transfer speculation
Speaking ahead of Ivory Coast’s clash against Norway on Tuesday, the 19 year old explained that he is not paying attention to the growing rumours surrounding his future and prefers to remain focused on the tournament.
“I don’t have the internet, Instagram, TikTok and that kind of thing, so regarding the discussions with my club it’s my agent that does that,
“It’s a great chance to play at the World Cup and I want to make the most of that. I remain focused on that and I really want to enjoy this World Cup as much as possible,” Diomande said.
The winger’s calm response comes amid intense speculation surrounding a possible blockbuster move away from RB Leipzig after his rapid rise in European football.
Ivory Coast counting on Diomande against Norway
Diomande is expected to play a key role for Ivory Coast when they face Norway in Tuesday’s Round of 32 encounter.
The talented winger has become one of the standout young players in the tournament and will once again carry significant attacking responsibility as Ivory Coast chase a place in the next stage of the competition.
With transfer rumours continuing to dominate headlines across Europe, Diomande appears determined to keep his focus firmly on the World Cup stage before making any decisions regarding his club future.
