Tunisia coach Sabri Lamouchi makes bold World Cup prediction

Head coach of Tunisia Sabri Lamouchi insists his outfit is capable of progressing beyond the group stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Cartage Eagles are set to begin their Group F campaign against Sweden, and Lamouchi has made it clear that his team is focused on defying outside expectations and proving their quality on football’s biggest stage.

“We have one objective: to qualify for the second round,” Lamouchi said. “Few people believe in us, but I believe. The most important thing is making my players believe it’s possible.”

The Tunisian coach stressed the importance of mentality and unity within the squad, adding that belief will be a decisive factor in their World Cup journey.

Lamouchi also highlighted the influence of experienced figures around the team, including veteran forward Wahbi Khazri, who he described as still contributing around the squad environment.

“Wahbi Khazri still trains with us sometimes and has so much quality. Humor aside, I wish I could play him,” he joked.

Tunisia enter the tournament as underdogs in a competitive Group F, but Lamouchi remains optimistic that his side can rise to the occasion and challenge for a place in the next round.

With the opening fixture against Sweden approaching, Tunisia will be looking to start strongly and build momentum in their bid to reach the knockout stages for the first time in their World Cup history.
